AFTERCARE
-
LEAVE ON FOR THREE DAYS
It’s normal to see liquid underneath the second skin which can be plasma, wound fluid or ink. If anything feels weird (burning or itching), please take off the protection bandage as it could be a sign of intolerance or allergy to the second skin.REMOVE IN THE SHOWER
Run cool or warm water over the bandage to dissolve the glue best as possible and peel off from one edge gently and slowly. Do not yank off your second skin. Avoid showering in scorching hot water and do not exfoliate, scrub, shave or wax the area until the tattoo is fully healed.WASH & MOISTURIZE
After removing the bandage, wash the tattoo twice a day with mild soap (fragrance-free) and gently pat the area dry with a paper towel. Please only use a clean paper towel and no towels or toilet paper. Apply a thin layer of aquaphor up to one week after the day of your tattoo and switch to unscented lotion afterwards. After the tattoo is fully healed, always use sunscreen while outdoors to maintain the longevity of your tattoo. -
Skip this section if second skin was applied to your tattoo.
FIRST REMOVAL
Remove plastic wrap after 2-4 hours. Do not leave traditional non-breathable cling wrap on for multiple days.
CLEAN
Wash your hands then use lukewarm water and mild, fragrance-free liquid soap to gently rub away blood, plasma, and excess ink. Pat the area completely dry with a clean paper towel and let it air-dry for 10 to 15 minutes.
WRAP AGAIN
After cleaning, apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor ointment and rewrap your fresh tattoo loosely with clean plastic wrap. Secure with tape. Remove temporary rewraps every 3 to 4 hours and repeat the process. After the first 24-48 hours, remove the wrap permanently. -
AVOID TOUCHING & ITCHING
Refrain from touching and itching your healing tattoo. Itching and scabbing is a natural part of the tattoo process
WEAR LOOSE CLOTHING
Avoid covering the tattoo with tight clothes or bandages and let your tattoo breathe in the open air as much as possible. Tight or abrasive clothing can irritate the tattoo.
AVOID EXERCISE
Don’t work out or exercise for the first 5 days. Intense physical activities and excessive sweating can disrupt the healing process and increase the risk of infection. If the tattoo still feels sore after five days, please wait even longer before exercising. Avoid any unnecessary friction with your fresh tattoo. Remove the second skin early if you find yourself sweating underneath it.
CAUTION AROUND PETS
If you have any pets, don’t let them get close to the tattooed area to avoid infection. -
